Pasco County, FL - According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a serious hit-and-run crash occurred on US-19 on August 8, 2024, leaving a motorcyclist with severe injuries and authorities searching for the driver responsible.
The incident took place at approximately 6:10 PM as a Jaguar sedan was traveling northbound on US-19, approaching the intersection of Sea Ranch Drive. The Jaguar was initially in the outside right turn lane when the driver attempted a sudden and dangerous lane change across all northbound lanes.

As the Jaguar attempted to merge into the left lane, it abruptly stopped in the inside lane, directly in the path of a Yamaha motorcycle, which was also traveling northbound in the inside lane. Despite the motorcyclist's efforts to avoid the collision, the Yamaha collided with the Jaguar, sending the rider into the center northbound lane.
The motorcyclist, a 48-year-old man from Weeki Wachee, sustained serious injuries in the crash. Shockingly, the driver of the Jaguar fled the scene, leaving the injured rider behind.
