Tragic Crash Claims Life of 46-Year-Old Woman on Tricycle

Pasco County, FL – According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 46-year-old Dade City woman lost her life early Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle while riding her tricycle on Long Avenue.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:50 AM, just west of 15th Street. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was traveling westbound on her tricycle, which did not have lights, when she was hit from behind by a Suzuki SX4, driven by a 43-year-old man, also from Dade City.

The impact sent the tricyclist to the ground, and she was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts by medical staff, she later succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the crash, and no charges have been filed at this time. The names of both the driver and the victim have not been released.

This tragic accident highlights the dangers of traveling on roadways without proper lighting, especially during the dark early morning hours. Law enforcement urges cyclists and motorists alike to stay vigilant and ensure their visibility when sharing the road.
