A new restaurant has opened in Fairlawn, Ohio

FAIRLAWN, OH - A restaurant known for its customizable smoothie and fruit bowls has come to the shopping mall Fairlawn Town Center.

Are you in the mood for some fruit? If the answer is yes, you might want to check out The Fruit Stand, which recently opened a new restaurant in Fairlawn at 2855 W Market St. According to the restaurant's social media account, the new Fairlawn location celebrated its grand opening on July 16. To celebrate the grand opening, the restaurant gave away free bowls to the first 50 customers.

The Fairlawn location is the Fruit Stand's fourth restaurant. The Fruit Stand also has locations in Kent, Cleveland, and Broadview Heights, according to the restaurant's website. The restaurant is from founder and CEO Jason Carpinelli, who came up with the concept while living in Kent, Ohio:

I wanted to start eating healthier and less processed foods, but I never had the time. I used to always have homemade fruit salads at my grandparents house and I wanted to start making those at home for myself – but running to the store and cutting up a bunch of fruit was time consuming. That was my light bulb moment! I figured I can’t be the only person that has a craving for fresh fruit, so I wrote a business plan, expanded the menu to include smoothie bowls, and then decided to give the menu a “build your own” type of style.

The menu includes customizable smoothie bowls (you can choose from acai, special, or twist), fresh cut fruit bowls, oatmeal bowls (the restaurant offers warm or overnight oats), and vanilla pound cake bowls. Then you can opt for a regular or large bowl. Next, you pick your fruits: banana, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, apples, or grapes. After that, you pick among these crunchie toppings: granola, coconut flakes, graham crackers, Oreos, waffle cone, pie crust, peanuts, or almonds. Finally, you pick among these drizzle options: Nutella, peanut butter, almond butter, local honey, melted chocolate, maple syrup, whipped cream, or agave.

The new location is open 6 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday from 9 AM to 7 PM and Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM. It's closed on Mondays.
