Two puppies in Lynn seeking adoption

LYNN — Two puppies, Raspberry and Otis Picasso, are being fostered in the city and looking to find their furr-ever family.

Otis Picasso is a six- to seven-month-old cattle dog-hound mix from Missouri. He has been with his foster family in Lynn since April 25.

“He loves other dogs! He’s a super dog-friendly boy,” Rebecca Moore, volunteer coordinator of Gals Best Pal, said.

Moore said he is crate-trained, potty-trained, and good at walking on a leash.

“He’s really smart and definitely just wants to please his owner as much as possible,” she said.

She said Otis Picasso knows commands such as, come, sit, down, and place.

“He has a lot of tricks up his sleeve,” she said.

Raspberry is approximately six months old. Moore said Gals Best Pal’s best guess on her breed is a boxer mix. Raspberry is from the South and arrived in Lynn on May 19.

“She is a new foster, so she got some ice cream yesterday and she is settling in quite well,” Moore said.

Moore added that Raspberry is great with kids and other dogs, is crate-trained, and is almost potty-trained.

“She’s a nice like medium-energy. She definitely is up for an adventure but loves to just, like, snuggle and hang out on the couch as well,” Moore said.

Both Raspberry and Otis Picasso are available for adoption through Gals Best Pal, a Massachusetts-based volunteer agency.

Moore said the organization is “pretty North Shore-based.”

According to its website, Gals Best Pal’s rescue mission “is to be a voice for the voiceless as it advocates for the dogs in its care while finding them safe, suitable, caring homes.”

The organization works with partners across the country and in the state to rescue “unwanted animals experiencing neglect, abuse, homelessness, or at risk of euthanasia.”

Gals Best Pal also spays and neuters each dog it fosters in order to help mitigate the crisis of animal overpopulation.

If you would like to adopt Otis Picasso or Raspberry, you can visit galsbestpalls.com and note the name of the dog in the application.

After approval, Gals Best Pal will provide educational resources for the new pet parent. It also supplies handouts about crate training and a recommended trainers list.
