Man Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Demaree Street [Visalia, CA]
One Hospitalized after Pedestrian Collision near Walnut Avenue. VISALIA, CA (July 18, 2024) – One man was hurt Sunday afternoon, in a pedestrian crash on Demaree Street. Around 2:06 p.m., police officers responded to the scene near Walnut Avenue. According to the Visalia Police Department, the driver of a vehicle hit the male pedestrian for reasons under investigation. Medics transported the victim, only described as a 22-year-old man, to Kaweah Health. Reports said the man remains at the hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the site and cooperated with the investigators. Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, the Visalia PD Traffic Unit is leading the investigation. Officials do not suspect intoxication to be a factor in the incident. Strathmore Man Arrested for Agricultural Theft
On July 1, 2024, Tulare County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) AG Unit Detectives were notified of a theft of chemicals from a local farmer in the Strathmore/Lindsay area. AG Detectives began an investigation and identified a vehicle seen on surveillance video parked at a home in Strathmore. Through their investigation, Detectives discovered that 41-year-old Elijio Ceballos was driving the vehicle at the time of the chemical theft.
Teens Arrested for Vehicle Theft and Assault on Detective
This afternoon at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Tulare Regional Auto Theft Taskforce (TRATT) identified a stolen red Toyota Camry from Visalia. Detectives tracked the vehicle to the intersection of Crenshaw Street and Victor Court. At this location, one of the passengers exited the Camry and entered another stolen vehicle, a black Ford Edge, which had not yet been reported as stolen.
