Migrants are increasingly attacking and injuring Federal Agents in one Texas Border Patrol Sector in a desperate and dangerous effort to escape arrest. The U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector reports a "significant rise in attacks on Border Patrol Agents" there.

Since the beginning of Fiscal Year 2024 in October, 66 El Paso Sector Border Patrol Agents have been assaulted there. El Paso Sector Chief Border Patrol Agent Anthony Scott Good says migrants often throw rocks and glass bottles at his agents when trying to evade apprehension. There have been numerous instances of vehicles receiving extensive damage from rocks thrown by fleeing migrants and injuries to his agents.

The Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol reports there have been hundreds of assaults on his agents by migrants - and migrant "guides" so far this year. He has posted photos of some of the injuries his agents have suffered HERE (Do not open this link if you are bothered by the sight of blood!)

Although the El Paso Sector is the current hotspot for assaults of Border Patrol Agents - other sectors are not immune from the attacks. The Rio Grande Valley Sector has posted photos of rocks intended to injure their agents which were tossed over border barriers there - as well as the Yuma, Arizona sector where agents have had to take cover from large rocks thrown over the "Border Wall."

Agents in the San Diego Sector have also regularly been assaulted by migrants and their cartel "guides" by small boulders lobbed into their patrol vehicles:

“Assaulting federal agents is not just a crime; it is an affront to our principles of justice and the safety of our nation. “We will not tolerate any harm to the well-being of those dedicated to protecting others. Our law enforcement partners stand with us in bringing those responsible to justice.” - El Paso Sector Chief Border Patrol Patrol Agent Anthony “Scott” Good

Should penalties for assaulting Border Patrol Agents be increased to deter these attacks?
