CBP Officers discovered 108 packages containing 196 pounds of methamphetamine inside a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old U.S. citizen. The drug load had a street value of more than $1,800,000 dollars.

This seizure continues a streak of large meth busts by federal agents this month along the border - including a record-breaking $48 million dollar meth seizure on the Pharr International Bridge.

Blending in bundles of meth shaped and colored like real produce is a favored smuggling method of the cartels. (You can read more about that HERE).

CBP Officers this month in Otay Mesa, California discovered almost 5,000 pounds of "fake watermelons" were actually 1,220 large meth bundles disguised as fruit within a large semi-truckload of the real thing..
