    JHS track competes in Krum

    JHS track competes in Krum Brian Smith Tue, 04/02/2024 - 2:15 pm Jacksboro High School’s track teams had its final pre-district track meet Wednesday, March 27 in Krum. The varsity girls placed 3rd, led by Kylie Tullous who broke her own school record by winning the pole vault with an 11’ effort. Tullous also won the long jump with a 17’2 leap. Judit Herrera won the 3,200-meters in 13:10.43 and the 1,600-meters in 6:01.80. Brailyn Tullous was 2nd in the pole vault try with a 9’6” effort. Other 2nd place finishes came from Kylie Tullous in the triple jump with a 34’7”, Landrie Valenzuela in the shot put with a 37’1 1/2” throw, Jocelyn Santillana in the 3,200-meters in 14:22.49.. In 3rd spot was Holly Lehman in the triple jump with a 34’2” along with Brailyn Tullous in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.19. Brooke Reaves in the shot-put with a 33’1 1/2”. Brailyn Tullous was 4th in the 300-meter hurdles in 51.08. Freshman Kylie Johnson was 5th in the 100-meter hurdles in 21.14 as was Lehman in the 200-meters with a time of 28.71 and Santillana in the 1,600-meters. Brailyn Tullous was 6th with a 15’7 1/2” in the long jump. Other 6th place finishes came from Lehman was 6th in the 100-meters with a time of 13.85 and Johnson in the 300-meter hurdles in 56.97. In varsity boys, who finished 4th as a team, Luke Sams won the triple jump with a 40’7 1/2” try with Eric Pizana wining the 300-meter hurdles in 41.89. In 3rd place was Jeff Treadway in the discus with a 125’9” throw along with Eric Pizana in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.11, the 1,600-meter relay team in 3:39.55 and Sams in the 200-meters in 23.59 Pizana was also 4th in the triple jump with a 38’1 1/4”. Glyndon Rodriguez was 5th in the shot put with a 39’ 5 1/2”, as was Brayden Rockey in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.56 and the 800-meter relay foursome who ran a 1:38.9. The District 7-3A track meet field and running event prelims were held Monday (no results as of press time). The running finals begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 at Iowa Park High School.
