Some roads closed in Kalamazoo due to flooding as remnants of Beryl hit West Michigan
KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — The remnants of Hurricane Beryl worked their way up the country and hit West Michigan Tuesday evening, causing some flooding and closed roads. Much of West Michigan is under flood advisories carrying through Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service Grand Rapids issued a flood advisory for Calhoun, Eaton, Ingham, Jackson, Kalamazoo and Van Buren counties.
3 Jackson County school districts seek millage renewals on August ballot
JACKSON, MI - Some Jackson County voters will decide whether to renew 18-mill non-homestead operating millages for three school districts in the August primary election. The Hanover-Horton School District, Jackson Public Schools and the Michigan Center School District are seeding renewals of their operating millages on the Aug. 6 ballot. The taxes apply only to non-homestead, industrial, commercial and non-qualified agricultural property and do not include primary residences.

Man wanted in fatal Jackson County stabbing arrested in Ann Arbor
JACKSON COUNTY, MI -- A man was arrested in Ann Arbor Monday afternoon in connection with a fatal Jackson County stabbing that took place earlier in the day. The 33-year-old man was taken into custody around 1:50 p.m. July 8, in Ann Arbor and is being held in the Jackson County Jail pending charges, according to the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety.
