Police: Man shot after altercation with daughter’s boyfriend turns violent

Police say a man was transported to a Mississippi hospital after being shot by his daughter’s boyfriend.

Jackson police said the man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries after he and his daughter’s boyfriend got into an altercation Sunday on Alta Woods Boulevard.

The altercation escalated, leading the boyfriend to use a small caliber handgun. The bullet ricocheted, grazing the victim’s face.

Police say the victim left the hospital to avoid contact with law enforcement.

The investigation by the Jackson Police Department continues.
