Fire In The Sky Soundtrack

This incredible fireworks display consists of over 300 aerial shells, ranging in diameter from three to eight inches. The show is an Independence Day blast (pun intended) that’s sure to impress. Fireworks begin at approximately 10 p.m. at Harney and 22nd Street.

Raiders drop pair to Powell in slugfest
The Riverton Raiders hosted the Powell Pioneers Tuesday at Roy Peck Field in a doubleheader. The Park County team took both contests, winning the first game 10-1 via a six-run outburst in the fifth inning and the second 16-14 in a slugfest that featured four home runs, one by Powell and three from the Raiders.

This is the first time the game is being played in Wyoming, and only the second time it’s in the U.S. The game starts at 2 p.m. at Meeteetse High School. Team USA features some top players from Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, and Texas.

Riverton Fire Department gets a new truck
(Riverton, WY)—Yesterday, the Riverton Fire Department (RFD) received a donation of a mini car restored to look like an antique fire engine. The donation came from Tom Kennedy, son of Marshall and Lois Kennedy. Marshall was a member of the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department from the late 1950s into the early 1960s, according to the RFD announcement. The Riverton Fire plate came from Marshall’s car. Tom received it when he passed away. Tom also shared that his mother cleaned the fire station for a couple of years in the early 1960s as well.

Projects take over Braves Field during the summer
• Additional turf field, track resurfacing and updated bleachers all under construction. Sometimes a casual drive past the football field and track oval during the summer reveals a quiet or even sleepy day during the summer. Not this year.
