    Soaring in 2024: How Jacksonville-area players fared in college softball season

    The 2024 college softball season is complete, but not without plenty of highlights from Jacksonville-area players.

    In the circle or at the plate, locals delivered an impact in the now-finished season, including numerous conference awards and postseason visits.

    The list also includes a Women's College World Series pair from Oakleaf, where Baylee Goddard and Katie Kistler helped Florida to the final four in Division I.

    Here's how Jacksonville-area players on college softball rosters fared in 2024.

    UT Kayla Aldridge

    Fr.*, Florida A&M, Oakleaf

    Batted .400 with two doubles and 13 RBI in 34 games.

    OF Khloe Banks

    So., Purdue, Oakleaf

    Boilermakers' leading hitter batted .345 with nine doubles, 35 runs, 18 RBI, 24 steals in 51 games.

    P Cris'Deona Beasley

    Gr., Alabama A&M, Columbia

    Pitched in 16 games, going 6-10 with a 5.16 ERA and one save in 97 2/3 innings.

    OF Lauren Bevis

    Jr., South Florida, Creekside

    Batted .286 in 26 games, mostly in defensive role.

    UT Allison Bratek

    Sr., Jacksonville, Creekside

    JU's runs leader with 33, batting .275 with eight doubles, four homers, 15 RBI in 49 games.

    OT Madison Bratek

    Jr., Jacksonville, Creekside

    Led Dolphins with .284 batting average in 46 games, plus five doubles, a home run, 15 RBI, 20 steals and 29 runs.

    OF Breezy Burnett

    So., Minnesota, Trinity Christian

    Hit .236 with five doubles, one home run, 14 steals while starting all 53 games.

    SS Kiley Channell

    Fr., Florida Atlantic, Keystone Heights

    AAC Rookie of the Year started all 57 games with .333 average, team-high 19 doubles, 35 RBI.

    IF Savannah Channell

    Sr., North Florida, Keystone Heights

    Liberty transfer started all 54 games, hitting .246 with three doubles, two home runs, 12 RBI.

    SS Wisdom Colbert

    Fr., Howard, First Coast

    Played in 16 games in mostly defensive role, batting .111.

    P Ashley Connor

    Jr., North Florida, Paxon

    Pitched in 14 games, going 1-1 with a 4.86 ERA and a save in 40 1/3 innings.

    Batted .208 with three doubles in 42 games for WCWS qualifiers.

    Gr., Minnesota, St. Johns Country Day

    Golden Gophers' No. 1 starter went 12-7 with 3.16 ERA and a save in 29 games, 110 2/3 innings.

    Appeared in one game.

    UT Alyssa Grupp

    Sr., Marist, Atlantic Coast

    Batted .377 in 53 games, including eight doubles, two triples, 13 steals; first-team All-MAAC selection joined coaching staff in June.

    OF Kylie Hammonds

    So., Florida Atlantic, Creekside

    Batted .306 in 43 games (seven starts), three doubles and a home run.

    IF Jalia Hubbard

    Sr., Jackson St., Brunswick

    Played 39 games, batting .250 with a home run, 22 stolen bases and 14 runs.

    Ace Rattler went 15-4 with two saves, 1.66 ERA, 111 strikeouts in 30 games; named SWAC Pitcher of the Year and tied for Freshman of the Year.

    Florida State transfer pitched in 17 games, with a 1-2 record, a 2.89 ERA and a team-high four saves.

    Pitched in eight games, finishing 0-3 with a 5.75 ERA; also batted .250 in 16 games as a hitter.

    Batted .226 in 52 games with five doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI.

    UT Nyah Morgan

    Rattlers' top extra-base threat hit .343 with eight doubles, three triples, 29 RBI; second-team All-SWAC.

    P Christa Pritchard

    Jr., Jacksonville, Yulee

    Pitched in 11 games, finishing 2-2 with a 3.00 ERA in 28 innings.
