Former University of North Florida player One Kashima birdied the 18th hole of the Aberdeen Golf and Country Club on Friday to tie Madison Morman of Palm Beach Gardens for the lead at 3-under 69 in the first round of the Florida State Golf Association Women's Stroke Play Championship.

Kashima, who was the ASUN Freshman of the Year before transferring to UCF on June 27, also birdied Nos. 14 and 15 to get into contention in an FSGA event for the second time in three weeks. She reached the match-play championship of the FSGA Women's Amateur on June 16 at the Bear's Club before losing to Sophia Dyer 2-up.

Lauren Clark of Orlando, a senior at Kansas; and high school seniors Ariana Silva and Sunrise and Bretton Mackiewcz of Longwood are tied for third at 2-under.
