Nearly two years since a pregnant radio personality was shot to death in her Jacksonville apartment with her 1- and 3-year-olds home, the children’s father has been found guilty as charged.

Bursey Jerome Armstrong Jr., 35, of Middleburg was charged with second-degree murder a day after Tasheka Ranette Young was found dead at the Mission Pointe Apartments on Biscayne Boulevard with her door kicked in. The 34-year-old who went by TySheeks on her Power 106.1 show was four months pregnant, which resulted in a second murder charge.

A search of Armstrong’s parents’ home found clothing with blood under the stairs and a Glock 9mm buried at the base of the deck to the backyard, according to the arrest report.

Assistant State Attorney Sheila Loizos also said cellphone records showed very toxic text back-and-forth messages before the night of the murder.

Young's mother who found her said they had a violent relationship and that her daughter told her Armstrong held a gun to her head about two weeks prior, according to news partner First Coast News. She also testified Tuesday that she found her after getting an uncharacteristic text from Armstrong asking about her.

“She’s on the floor, and her baby girl was holding her mom’s hand,” Olivia Young said. “Bursey [Jr.] was in the bed just shaking.”

Armstrong showed up to the scene and agreed to be questioned. He said he had not been to her apartment for over a week and they could check his cellphone. But those records, DNA links and additional evidence led to a quick verdict Wednesday. Court records show jurors made up their minds in less than an hour and a half.

Armstrong's sentencing date will be set on Aug. 19, according to court records, and faces 50 years to life in prison for the two counts.
