Corning grad Seth Hogue wrapped up his college lacrosse career with a major honor. After 4 seasons with the Dolphins’ men’s lacrosse team, Hogue has been named as the program’s first Maxwell Hartong Endowment Award recipient.

The inaugural award honors the late Maxwell Hartong, who served as Jacksonville’s Lacrosse captain (2018), and suddenly passed away while training for the 2022 Miami Iron Man competition. The award and a corresponding fund were created by the Hartong family to support graduating seniors or alumnus of the men’s lacrosse team, who wish to attend graduate school.

“We established the Maxwell Hartong Endowment Award to keep Max’s legacy alive by helping others pursue their dreams. Max had a deep sense of purpose and was always striving to better himself and help others. His dedication to achieving his goals and his drive to be successful in all he did was contagious. We feel Seth embodies these qualities through his leadership, work ethic, and tenacious pursuit of his dreams. We could not be more proud to give the inaugural award to Seth Hogue .”

Additionally, Hogue shared his excitement to earn the Hartong Award, as he peruses the next chapter of his academic career:
“I am deeply grateful to be a recipient of the Max Hartong Memorial Scholarship. Your generosity not only supports my education but also inspires me to embody Max’s spirit of passion and determination. Thank you for honoring Max’s legacy in such a meaningful way. I am committed to upholding his values and making the most of this opportunity.” (Courtesy of judolphins.com)

Hogue now leaves the Dolphins’ program after making a major impact. The standout defenseman appeared in 19 games, over 4 seasons, causing 6 turnovers, while collecting 8 ground balls. Hogue earned the 2022 Iron Phin Award and served as a team captain in 2024. The Corning grad will now pursue a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
