3 Bold Predictions For The Jacksonville Jaguars In 2024

The Jacksonville Jaguars are going to get back on track in 2024 after a disappointing season last year.

Going into the 2023 campaign, expectations were high for the Jaguars, as they looked like they were going to be taking a step forward once again.

While 2023 didn’t pan out the way they would have liked, Jacksonville is still a talented team that can compete in the stacked AFC.

Even though the Jaguars finished with a 9-8 record last season, that wasn’t good enough to get them into the playoffs. Knowing that every game is going to matter this season for them, the Jags should be very focused every week as they try to win the AFC South.

With a lot of excitement as we get closer to the start of the season, here are three bold predictions for the Jaguars in 2024.

Jaguars Take the Division

For years, the AFC South has been one of the worst divisions in the NFL. However, that narrative has quickly changed, as the Houston Texans, Jaguars, and Indianapolis Colts all have talented young quarterbacks who can led their respective teams to the playoffs.

While those three are clearly the best in the division, the Tennessee Titans can also be a bit of a wild card in the division with Will Levis entering his second season. Levis showed some glimpses in 2023, and he could end up becoming a very good quarterback as well.

For the Jaguars, they will be eyeing taking down the Texans this season. Houston improved this offseason and C.J. Stroud might be even better in Year 2. While Stroud and the Texans are going to be very good, the Jaguars could retake the division this season.

Jaguars Make AFC Title Game

If the Jaguars can win the AFC South, they also have a chance of going on a run come playoff time.

The AFC is wide open, and getting games at home will be extremely important. The teams in the AFC North and AFC East are likely going to beat each other up for playoff spots, and it’s impossible to know who will come out of those divisions.

The AFC West runs through Kansas City, and the Jaguars could meet up with them in the AFC Title Game. Until the Chiefs are dethroned, the AFC runs through them, but this could be the season that the Jaguars take a step forward and battle Kansas City for conference supremacy.

Trevor Lawrence becomes an MVP candidate

With the Jaguars expected to be good in 2024, that could mean that their star quarterback enters the MVP conversation. With a ton of good quarterbacks in the league, winning the MVP is going to be challenging for Trevor Lawrence, but being in the conversation is a good goal to shoot for.

One of the big areas Lawrence will have to improve on is protecting the football, as his 14 interceptions last season were too many. If he can limit the turnovers, Lawrence could end up having a terrific campaign.
