Jaguars offensive lineman Tyler Shatley plans to retire from the NFL following the 2024 season, he told Ryan Green of 1010XL after Jacksonville’s ninth day of training camp Friday.

Shatley re-signed with the Jaguars on a one-year contract in April, marking his return to the club for an 11th season. He joined Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent in 2014.

A versatile interior offensive lineman who plays guard and center, Shatley has played 145 games in his career with the Jaguars — fifth-most in franchise history, behind center Brad Meester (209), wide receiver Jimmy Smith (171), tight end Marcedes Lewis (170) and kicker Josh Scobee (168) — including 51 starts.

Shatley started at least eight games yearly between the 2020-22 seasons.

Jacksonville brought Shatley back for the 2024 campaign as part of the team’s revamped offensive line depth.

The Jaguars added free-agent center Mitch Morse in March, relegating former starting snapper Luke Fortner to a backup role alongside Shatley on the interior.

Jacksonville also picked offensive tackle Javon Foster in the fourth round of April’s 2024 NFL draft.
