Family dinners just got really awkward for Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson

The NFL really is a cold, cold world. Now, there are some good parts to it, of course, like the fact that a son can coach under his dad, who is the head coach, which we have seen a ton.

Or, a kid can play for his dad, who is the head coach, which we have also seen with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Family members play for or coach for one another very often, and sometimes it's the very reason someone gets a job.

But, then there is the dark side of it. Those head coaches have fired their kids before. Or Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, has likely had conversations similar to that with his children, who all work for him. In the case for the Jaguars', it happened on Saturday.

It's training camp for every team now, and soon after three preseason games played, every team will have to cut down from 90 players on the roster to 53. And, the Jaguars have already made one of their cuts, or waives, you could say.

On Saturday, head coach Doug Pederson waived his son, Josh Pederson, from the Jaguars, with an injury designation. So, in other words, he let him go, and if he clears waivers they can bring him back if they choose to do so but he will likely have to go on the IR.

Josh Pederson plays tight end and appeared in three games last season. It's safe to say family dinners just got really awkward.
