Brian Thomas Jr. is the forgotten man among first round picks out of Louisiana State University from this past season who was taken number 23 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit, Michigan.

Thomas Jr. had a breakout season with the SEC's Tigers in 2023-2024, racking up 1,177 yards and 17 touchdowns for Coach Brian Kelly's team while serving as a security blanket in the red zone for Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels.

Thomas Jr. was named as a starter on the Jaguars' latest 2024-2025 depth chart, just in the nick of time with Jacksonville set to play vs. the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in an exhibition matchup on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.

Thomas Jr. is known as a student and lover of the game of football, a self-made player who flew under the radar and still managed to join Daniels and fellow Tigers wideout Malik Nabers in the 2024 first round.

If Thomas Jr. can live up to his immense potential, Trevor Lawrence just might have himself a new number one receiver sometime in the coming months and years in central Florida.

A Thomas ascent to WR1 would be a more than welcome development after the Calvin Ridley experiment was scratched following a solid but ultimately unsuccessful year for the Jaguars' team as a whole in Jacksonville.
