Chief Davis provides update on fire that destroyed Jamesport Country Store
A fire early Monday consumed the contents and metal structure of the Jamesport Country Store. Chief Davie Davis of Jamesport Fire and Rescue reported that the business burned to the ground. He noted that the structure was halfway engulfed by the time the first fire crew arrived at the scene on Route NN, off Highway 6. The business was closed when the fire was reported to 911 at about 1 a.m.

(JAMESPORT, Mo.) At the Jamesport Country Store at 6 and F highways in Jamesport, the feeling is somber, but optimistic. When approaching the intersection of 6, F, and NN highways in Jamesport, it looks like a warzone. Jamesport Fire and Rescue responded to a call around 1AM on Monday, July 8th, regarding a fire at the Jamesport Country Store. According to Jamesport Fire and Rescue Chief Davey Davis, the store burned to the ground. Chief Davis stated that they are no longer actively investigating the fire and would probably not know the cause.
Chillicothe woman airlifted after mini bike accident near Jamesport
A Chillicothe woman was seriously injured in a mini-bike accident that occurred on private property three miles northwest of Jamesport on July 6, 2024, at approximately 3 p.m. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jennifer A. Reynolds, 34, was driving a 2020 Massimo Warrior 200 mini bike when the vehicle overturned and came to rest on her. The crash happened at 18595 285th Street.

Two Serious Injury Crashes In Area Counties
Two serious injury crashes in the area counties over the weekend were investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol. Saturday in Daviess County, a Chillicothe woman was on a mini-bike and crashed, resulting in serious injuries. She was flown to Truman Medical Center for treatment. Thirty-four-year-old Jennifer Reynolds was riding the mini bike on private property when the bike overturned and came to rest on top of her. She was not wearing a helmet.
