Body recovered Sunday at Lake Greenwood State Park, coroner says
GREENWOOD CO., S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Greenwood Co. Coroner’s Office (GCSO) said Sunday a body was recovered by divers at Lake Greenwood State Park. According to GCSO, Ludvin Hernandez, 18, had been swimming at Lake Greenwood when he went under. Hernandez’s family called 911 for assistance when Ludvin could not be found.
Local Pastors Attend Emergency Services Behavioral Health Summit
On July 11th, Joseph Graham, New Memorial Temple of Praise and James Orr, Pyerian Baptist Church, attended the 2024 Emergency Services Behavioral Health Summit in Mount Pleasant, SC. This is part of an initiative led by Sheriff Jamie Hamilton and the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office to provide support for first responders in Dillon County in crisis situations. Ongoing training opportunities are being established, as well as procedures for vetting and identification of those involved in being part of a Crisis Intervention team for Dillon County.
St. Stephen man charged in theft of air conditioner unit from senior center
MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCSC) - Deputies arrested a 27-year-old man in the theft of a five-ton air conditioning unit from a St. Stephen senior center after they say he attempted to sell it to undercover investigators. Michael Dennis Eagerton, of St. Stephen, is charged with receiving stolen goods, deputies say.
