Dunkerton Student Fighting for His Life
A Dunkerton High School student is fighting for his life at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a car crash on Saturday afternoon. The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office says 17 year old Grant Finck’s phone initiated a crash alert to dispatchers just before 2:30 p.m. When crews arrived on scene they found that Finck’s Toyota Corolla had rolled and he had been ejected from the vehicle. He was initially taken to Allen Hospital before being transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment of injuries described as life threatening.
Banned Player Wins Casino Jackpot, Gets Arrested
A banned Iowa player won a jackpot in a casino, despite being self-excluded. The man, who used a fake identity, was arrested, prompting an investigation into the matter. Matthew James Wessels, 43, was a self-excluded player who enrolled in the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission’s self-exclusion program in January last year. However, Wessels couldn’t resist the temptation and eventually visited Isle Hotel Casino in Waterloo, according to reports.
