Fire at Janesville business causes nearly $270K in damage, none injured

JANESVILLE, Wis. -- The Janesville Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that broke out at a business early Thursday.

Crews were called to 261 East Memorial Drive, which houses Real Estate Nerds, just after 1:30 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find fire coming from the roof of the building.

Firefighters got to work putting out the flames and searched the building, as well as a nearby home, for people. The home was not damaged and its residents were not displaced.

Nobody was injured in the fire, however total losses are estimated at nearly $270,000.
