Jasper to work on multi-use trail project

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Officials say as part of the Multi-Use Trail Extension Project, the city of Jasper and its contractor will be doing work associated with the multi-use trail along Northwood Avenue from Newton Street to St. Charles Street.

City officials say this work will require the closure of the eastbound and the center turn lanes from Newton Street to St. Charles Street. Westbound only traffic from Newton Street to St. Charles will remain open to traffic. This closure is expected to begin on or after July 24 and remain in effect until approximately mid-November.

Officials say a detour route for eastbound traffic has been established and the detour signs are posted so people are requested to follow the marked detour route. The city of Jasper asks that people use caution when traveling through construction zones.
