About the Kentucky Derby Museum
The Kentucky Derby Museum has a simple mission: to engage, educate, and excite everyone about the extraordinary experience known as the Kentucky Derby! A premiere attraction in Louisville, the Kentucky Derby Museum celebrates the tradition, history, hospitality and pride of the Kentucky's world-renowned event with over 230,000 annual visitors.
After purchasing a general admission ticket, guests enjoy two floors of family-friendly interactive exhibits, a 30-minute guided historic walking tour at Churchill Downs Racetrack, and get their heart racing and emotions soaring watching the Museum’s signature 18-minute movie, “The Greatest Race” on a 360°, 4K high resolution screen. Guests also love seeing the Museum's Resident Thoroughbred and Pony in the stable area.
Hungry after your visit? Grab breakfast or lunch at the Derby Cafe Express, where you can also enjoy a mint julep at the full bar.
Upgraded tour options take visitors to some of the most exclusive spots inside Churchill Downs and to the sights and sounds of the backside.
