Area Man Accused of Trying to Meet Teen Girl for Sex Due in Court Today
JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — A 31-year-old man who is behind bars for allegedly attempting to solicit a minor girl for sex in Young Township is due in court today. According to court records, a preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday, July 3, for 31-year-old Ryan Scott Gabelli, of Blairsville, was continued a second time, and will resume at noon on Friday, July 19, at 12:00 p.m. with District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock presiding.

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Punxsutawney man who is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl in Perry Township continues his hearing on Friday. According to court documents, a preliminary hearing for 40-year-old Patrick Alan Hughes, of Punxsutawney, that was scheduled for Wednesday, June 26, was continued and will resume on Friday, July 19, with District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock presiding.
Local World War II vet celebrates 100th birthday
BROOKVILLE — Harry Willis Eshbaugh, one of Jefferson County’s oldest living veterans, was the guest of honor Saturday afternoon at a party to celebrate his 100th birthday. He was born July 14, 1924, in the Mayport area of Clarion County, one of five children born to Harry V. and Edna May Eshbaugh. He and his wife of 70 years, the late Nellie Virginia Carrier Eshbaugh, were the parents of two children – a son, Will, and a daughter, the late Sally Jane. He has two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
