Student Voices: Learning new things at the High School Journalism Institute
During my first two days at the High School Journalism Institute, I’ve had a lot of fun and learned a lot of new things. I started off the day by getting dropped off by my parents at 10 a.m. and putting our stuff in our dorm rooms. We started the program with lunch. Then, most of our group went ziplining and other activities on the challenge course (not me). After the challenge course, we were split into two teams again and spent a while trying to get a stick on the ground (it’s harder than it sounds).

The Orange Media Network newsroom in Corvallis was buzzing Monday as students and editors alike settled into the rhythm of Oregon’s High School Journalism Institute.
