Rally for Russ fundraiser supports Canevari
The community turned out July 13 to support Russell Canevari at the Rally for Russ at VFW Post 5544 in Jessup. Canevari underwent a kidney transplant surgery on July 3. Jennifer Jackson, Canevari’s daughter, said everything was donated for the fundraiser, and the Valley View girls basketball team volunteered to serve the dinners.

Nesquehoning rallies to raise funds for Go Joe 27 tour
It was a day of coming together for a good cause. On Wednesday, hundreds of residents from around the area gathered outside Narrow Valley Sportsplex in Nesquehoning to welcome WNEP meteorologist Joe Snedeker on his next leg of Go Joe 27, a bicycle fundraiser he completes to raise money for the St. Joseph’s Center in Scranton. The center serves people who are diagnosed with intellectual disability and those who seek pregnancy support, adoption assistance, outpatient therapy or medical day care services.
