Nationally renown muralist honors Hughes Springs fallen veteran
, A picture is worth a thousand words. Now, a nationally-recognized muralist, Darlene Taylor, is sending a message of honor with a thousand brush strokes by painting a giant mural of fallen Hughes Springs veteran, Samuel T. Castle. Taylor is from Texarkana, but she’s been traveling to Hughes Springs every day for over a month. , On Saturday, August 3rd, the BUDDY Organization of Northeast Texas held their back-toschool supplies drive in Daingerfield. In a Facebook post, they said, “The back to school supply give away was a huge success today. We gave away 170 backpacks filled with various school supplies. The new facility will accommodate a wide range of shippers looking to move safely commodities and finished products more efficiently. Executives and team members of Custom Inc., a logistics company delivering comprehensive solutions to shippers, joined customers, partners and local dignitaries to drive a “Golden Spike” into a new rail spur marking the beginning of construction for the company’s latest Multimodal Distribution Facility in Longview, Texas. The facility, capable of transloading thousands of railcars and trucks per year with a max capacity over 630 cars, is located on a 175-acre tract that will interchange with Union Pacific Railroad.
