Staten Island, NY – Wagner College Director of Tennis, Jeff Menaker , announced five new transfers between the men's and women's tennis teams for the upcoming season. The men's tennis program is welcoming four international transfers for the 2024-25 season. Brothers, Carlos Rodriguez Gonzalez (Lindenwood) and Pablo Rodriguez Gonzalez (Southwestern College) join the Seahawks from Galicia, Spain. Originally from France, graduate transfer Antoine Nivault joins the Seahawks from Mississippi College. Lastly, Gabriele Zugarelli ( Universitas Mercatorum) joins the Seahawks from Rome, Italy. Wagner Athletics: Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football Season Openers
This week, four Wagner teams are gearing up for their season openers. The Cross Country team will compete at the Stony Brook Invite after finishing fourth in the men’s and fifth in the women’s standings at last year's NEC Championships. Field Hockey kicks off its season against La Salle, aiming for a fourth consecutive NEC Tournament appearance with leadership from senior captains. Football looks for its first season-opening victory since 2018, while Women's Soccer seeks to improve after a recent road loss.

The Roselle Park Board of Education meets Tuesday evening, making final adjustments and approvals to primarily staff matters ahead of the first day of school on Sept. 5. Many of the items on the agenda are ministerial in nature, reflecting appointments to club advisor roles and making sure breakfast proctor positions are filled. But for the administrative team across the district, this agenda is something they have been hard at work on for the last ten weeks.
