WAYNE COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – On Saturday, dozens Wayne County residents met at Cracker Williams Park in Jesup to start a march through Jesup. in support of the family of Noah Bush and accountability.

“Well, today we are holding a protest and it’s an accountability protest. We want everybody that has played a part, from parents, we have the children, but we need parents to be held accountable as well for Noah’s death. They played a part in concealing, covering up.” said Organizer and Activist Thea Brooks as some of Noah Bush’s family members stood behind her.

Brooks continued, “We want the sheriff to know that we’re holding him to the fire because he didn’t do his job at the beginning. He said no foul play after the autopsy report shows, everybody knows now, it was homicide. So, this is an accountability rally and also to keep Noah’s name going and to let his mom know that we are here in support of her and her family.”

The Wayne County Sherriff’s Office (WCSO) charged two minors regarding the death of 8-year-old Noah Bush, who was found dead in a borrow pit in May.

The office issued a statement following the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s autopsy of Noah’s body.

The release states that medical examiners ruled Noah’s cause of death a drowning and, following WSCO’s investigation, declared his manner of death a homicide.

As a result of the investigation, the sheriff’s office charged one 10-year-old and one 11-year-old.
