GRAY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) told News Channel 11 on Monday that after numerous witness interviews, a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Saturday in Gray is still believed to have been a single-vehicle crash.

The JCPD said it obtained statements from those in the area at the time of the crash, and those statements have led investigators to believe the motorcycle “ran off the road.”

“We have interviewed multiple witnesses and none of them have indicated anything like another vehicle being involved in that crash,” Lt. Jim Tallmadge said. “Everything we have to this point indicates a single-vehicle [crash] and the motorcycle just ran off the road.”

The department said it is not currently looking for any additional witnesses or vehicles connected to the crash, but anyone who wishes to provide more information on the incident can call the JCPD.

The JCPD Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash. Police have spoken with and obtained statements from those in close proximity to this incident. While investigators are currently not looking for additional witnesses or vehicles connected to the crash, anyone with additional information may call the JCPD Tips line at 423.930.6535.
