BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa (WTAJ) — A duo was arrested and a woman had police and magistrates fooled over her identity until her fingerprints revealed she was not who she claimed to be.

Kevin Todd Walter, 36, and Rebecca Theresa Cramer, 37, both of Johnstown, were arrested Friday afternoon, June 28 after state police were called to a house in Lincoln Township (Imler).

According to charges filed, troopers found the duo inside the house, which hadn’t been lived in for a long time. Walter allegedly told police Cramer heard about the house from a friend and this was all her idea.

Cramer claimed to police that her sister’s name was hers. Police noted in the complaint that she even “fainted” while they tried to fingerprint her and was taken to UPMC Bedford. After being cleared by medical staff, Cramer, under her sister’s name, was charged and arraigned. She told the magistrate everything about her information was correct, the criminal complaint reads.

She was finally fingerprinted by state police where it was revealed her name was actually Cramer and she had multiple warrants in Cambria and Somerset counties. Charges were soon withdrawn and refiled under her actual name. She’s now also facing charges for giving false identification to law enforcement.

Troopers also said in the complaint they found three backpacks at the house when they first found Cramer and Walter. A search of those bags turned up a slew of scrap metal and copper, license plates, padlocks, jewelry, gummies and vapes. There was even a trumpet in one of the bags.

Both Cramer and Walter were placed in Bedford County Prison on burglary and theft charges.
