CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Johnstown man is facing felony charges after allegedly pointing a gun at a woman and her children.

Christopher Paige, 52, was charged with felony aggravated assault after police were called to a residence on the 300 block of Oak Street. The caller had told police that Paige allegedly had a shotgun pointed at her children and she was fearful he was going to shoot both her and the kids.

By the time police arrived, Paige had allegedly left the residence in a vehicle. Police interviewed the caller who said her children were down the street playing when Paige allegedly pointed a gun at them and asked them questions about something.

Police then talked to the children, who all claimed that Paige pointed the gun at them and said “something is going to happen tonight.” One child also said that Paige allegedly said he would “shoot someone else” if he couldn’t find his stuff.

It was noted in the charges that Paige had a prior conviction in September 2011 of persons not to possess a firearm. He was previously sentenced four years and 10 months for those charges.

Paige is now facing a felony charge of possession of a firearm prohibited, a felony charge of aggravated assault with attempts to cause bodily injury with a deadly weapon, a felony charge of flight to avoid apprehension and other related charges.

He is currently in the Cambria County Prison after being unable to post 10% of his $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 11.
