(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A third suspect is back in Illinois, years after he's accused of shooting and killing a teenager in Joliet.

Jwuan Jones, 18, was a passenger in a car when he was shot near Western Avenue and North Hickory Street in 2021. He later died from his injuries.

Shortly after the shooting, police arrested Paola Diaz and Adrian Bibian II.

In February, police obtained an arrest warrant for a third suspect: 30-year-old Aidan Marquez-Martinez of Bolingbrook.

U.S. Marshals captured Marquez-Martinez in Portland, Oregon in April.

This week, he was extradited back to Illinois, where he faces charges of murder and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
