Cobb County Water System Reports 710 Gallon Sewage Overflow
The Cobb County Water System reported an estimated 710 gallon wastewater sewer overflow occurred on July 2. The overflow, resulting from roots, occurred at 3170 Seven Pines Court in Atlanta and discharged into a tributary to Camp Bert Adams Creek. The Water System was notified of the overflow on July 2 at 12:17 p.m. and the overflow was stopped on July 2 at 2:15 p.m. Water System employees upon arrival observed a manhole spilling with the lid secured. The escaping sewage left a two-foot by 75-foot trail that led into a storm drain, which flows into the creek. After using a jet machine to unstop the line, the crew spread lime on the affected area. The crew did not observe any fish kills during their time on-site. For more information, call the Cobb County Water System’s Maintenance Division at 770-419-6351.
