JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — Leaders of the oldest town in Tennessee are preparing to launch another year of the Jonesborough Days Festival.

The celebration takes place June 4-6, with each day packed with live music, hundreds of vendors, kids’ activities, food trucks and a beer garden.

Festivities begin Thursday morning at 10 a.m. with a parade, then vendors, food and music will be on site all day. The celebration continues all day Friday. Then on Saturday, a fireworks show will end this year’s festival at 10 p.m.

Director of Special Events for the Town of Jonesborough Amber Crumley told News Channel 11 that the festival has become a tradition in the community, with parents bringing their kids to the Independence Day celebration they grew up going to.

“I think Jonesborough is just steeped in traditions, and I think that this is just yet another one,” she said. “You know, it being the 54th year, we have some of the same traditional things that we did. We always kick it off with the parade first. So that will happen at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning, on Thursday the fourth. And then of course, we always end with the fireworks.”
