    Outlaws Sweep Doubleheader Against Texarkana

    JOPLIN, MO – The Joplin Outlaws swept Texarkana with victories in games one and two on Wednesday night.

    After winning game one 6-3, Joplin would fall behind early in game two in initially trailing 2-0. Will Doherty would get the Outlaws’ bats going in the second inning via a double that scored CJ Cepicky. Known for his big contributions at Missouri Southern, Doherty would see another big game for Joplin. The second baseman would go 2-for-3 at the plate with a team-high two RBIs.

    Shu Kitagawa would later give the Outlaws a 3-2 lead via a single that would score Andre Jackson from second.

    With a late-game lead, Xavier Fosbenner would end up shutting the door with his second save of the season for Joplin, as the Outlaws would win 4-3 in seven innings.

    Up next, Joplin continues its series against Texarkana at home on Thursday, July 18th at 7:05 p.m.
