Illinois roster in 2024 Little League World Series: Meet every player, coach

The Hinsdale Little League baseball team won the Great Lakes region and earned a spot in the 2024 Little League World Series .

The team is heading to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and will play its first game of the double-elimination Little League World Series at 2 p.m. Friday against West region champion Hawaii.

Where is Hinsdale Little League?

Hinsdale Little League is located in Hinsdale, Illinois, located 20 miles west of downtown Chicago. It is considered one of the wealthiest communities in Illinois , according to a 2023 Chicago Tribune story. Hinsdale earned its first trip to the LLWS after winning the five-team Great Lakes Region Tournament on Aug. 7 in Whitestown, Indiana. That win came after Hinsdale won the state championship July 24.

“You need great talent, and you need a little luck to advance to the World Series,” manager Chad Wanless told the Chicago Tribune . “You don’t really think about going to the World Series, but I believed we had the talent to do it. We took it one step at a time, while working hard and having fun.

“Hinsdale is such a proud baseball community, and we hope to continue to make everyone proud.”
