A Peoria man involved in a motorcycle crash in July died early Tuesday morning, succumbing to his injuries over a month after the incident.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said that Jeremy M. Winders, 34, died at 12:57 a.m. at the OSF HealthCare Richard L. Owens Hospice Home after sustaining injuries in a July 19 motorcycle crash in the 900 block of North Douglas Street.

Harwood said that Winders was originally transported to OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center in critical but stable condition following the crash. However, his condition deteriorated over the course of the next month.

Significant trauma to his head and other parts of his body eventually led to his death. Harwood said a toxicology report is pending.

The Peoria Police Department is still investigating what led to the crash.
