    From times to street closures, what to know about Peoria's Labor Day parade for 2024

    Some roads in Peoria will be temporarily closed Monday, Sept. 2 for the Labor Day Parade and Bridge to Bridge Run.

    From 7 to 9 a.m., portions of Southwest Water Street will be closed for the Bridge to Bridge Run sponsored by the Illinois Valley Striders.

    • Southwest Water Street will be closed to all traffic between Liberty Street and Harrison Street.
    • Southwest Water Street will be closed to all traffic between Commercial Street and WalnutStreet.
    • No through traffic will be allowed on Commercial Street from Harrison Street to Southwest Water Street.

    Through traffic should utilize Southwest Washington Street as a detour.

    Runners will start in front of RC Outfitters at 311 SW Water St. and follow the Rock Island Trail before crossing Water Street at Commercial Street. Runners will run north on the Rock Island Trail and cross Southwest Washington Street. Runners will continue north on the Rock Island Trail before entering the multi-use path on the Bob Michel Bridge.

    Southwest Water Street will be open between Harrison Street and Commercial Street for residents needing access into the 401 Water St. parking deck. No through traffic will be permitted.

    Access into the Liberty Street Riverfront Parking Lot will be available from Liberty Street. Entry or exit from Harrison Street or Commercial Street will not be permitted.

    The Peoria Labor Day parade starts at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 2, in Downtown Peoria.

    The Peoria Labor Day Parade starts on Southwest Monroe Street between North William Kumpf Boulevard and Main Street. The parade will travel down Main Street before ending at Southwest Water Street.

    From 8 to 11 a.m., numerous streets throughout Downtown will be closed for the Labor Day Parade sponsored bythe West Central Illinois Labor Council.

    Road closures: 8 a.m.

    • West Monroe Street will be closed between North William Kumpf Boulevard and Main Street.

    Road closures: 9:45 a.m.

    • Main Street will be closed between Hamilton Boulevard and Southwest Water Street.
    • Southwest Madison Avenue will be closed between Main Street and Hamilton Boulevard.
    • Northeast Jefferson Avenue will be closed at Hamilton Boulevard.
    • Southwest Adams Street will be closed at Liberty Street.
    • Southwest Washington Street will be closed between Liberty Street and Hamilton Boulevard.
    • Southwest Water Street will be closed between Main Street and Eaton Street.
    • Hamilton Boulevard will be closed at Southwest Water Street.
    • Fulton Street will be closed at Southwest Monroe Street.

    The Labor Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. on Southwest Monroe Street between North WilliamKumpf Boulevard and Main Street. The parade will travel down Main Street beforeending at Southwest Water Street.

    Through traffic on Southwest Adams Street should travel north on North William KumpfBoulevard, east on Northeast Perry Avenue, and south on Fayette Street.

    Through traffic on Northeast Jefferson Avenue should travel north on Spalding Avenue, weston Northeast Glendale Avenue, and south on North William Kumpf Boulevard.
