    Black Bean Soup is so tasty, and very easy to make. Black beans are also an excellent source of fiber, potassium, and protein, and are naturally fat-free, sodium-free, and cholesterol-free that is win-win for everyone. Follow me and I will show you how to make black bean soup for 2 or for a crowd.

    First you need to start with dry black beans a good measure is ½ cup per serving. Wash the beans and soak overnight in clean water. When you start the soup rinse the beans well and put them into your pot. I like to cook my beans in a ceramic Dutch oven low and slow. You can always use a crock-pot or Instapot and it is perfectly fine. Refer to the instruction manual for the correct times.

    Ingredients:

    Black Beans ½ cup per serving.

    Salt and Pepper (to taste).

    ½ tsp. Garlic Powder.

    ½ tsp. Onion Powder.

    ½ tsp. Cumin.

    Ham or other meat about ¼ cup per serving. You can leave the meat out if desired.

    Chicken Broth.

    Water.

    1. Add beans to your pot and 1 cup of chicken broth for 4 servings, and 1 cup of water.

    2. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin. Adjust the measurements for your preference.

    3. Add Ham or other meat stir together.

    4. Put the lid on and cook until tender. In my Dutch oven about 4 hours on low to low-medium heat checking throughout cooking, and add water as needed.

    Top with chopped onions, Jalapenos, and sour cream. Serve with tortilla chips or cornbread.
