KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A 32-year-old was arrested in a drug bust in Kalamazoo.

On Thursday, members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team were sent to a home on N Edwards Street near E Prouty Street with a search warrant because a 32-year-old from Kalamazoo had been reportedly selling large amounts of illegal narcotics in the area for years.

Officers found 547 grams, or about 1.2 pounds, of fentanyl and powdered cocaine. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said that tools and equipment for manufacturing and distributing fentanyl were also found.

The 32-year-old was arrested and is being held in the Kalamazoo County Jail, KDPS said.

“KVET will continue to proactively pursue those who make the poor choice of manufacturing, distributing and selling this poison in our community. We welcome information the public has in aiding us in this endeavor,” KDPS said in a social media post .

Anyone with information is asked to call KDPS at 269.488.8120, KDPS at 269.337.8880 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.

    The case remains under investigation.
