Deputies investigate 2 shootings near Kalamazoo

OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are investigating two shootings near Kalamazoo.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office said around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday it responded to a report of a shooting on KL Avenue near Drake Road in Oshtemo Township.

The sheriff’s office said a juvenile called saying he had been shot. The victim was taken to the hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening injuries.

While at the scene, the sheriff’s office said deputies heard several gunshots in the area. Shortly after, deputies were told that a man called his family to say he was shot in a nearby apartment. The area was searched for the victim, but he was not found.

The sheriff’s office said it’s unknown if the two shootings are connected.
