    New Texas wind energy project to bring over $100M in revenue to Scurry Co.

    LUBBOCK, Texas — NextEra Energy Resources, Steel Dynamics and Scurry County community members and elected officials celebrated Canyon Wind Energy Center, Texas’ newest wind energy project on Tuesday, March 5.

    The organizations present checks that total $15,000 to support science, technology and mathematics programs at Ira and Snyder Independent School Districts.

    While the Canyon Wind Energy Center created over 300 jobs during construction, it will add $106 million in tax revenue for Scurry County over the life of the project.

    Texas and Scurry County have seen benefits due to the growing clean energy economy in the state. Projects like the Wind Energy Center are providing economic growth while generating cost-effective energy.
