At the Lubbock Arts Festival, Brewer’s exhibit “Jeffie’s Color Carnival” will showcase his signature metal sculptures and illustrations and inflatables to take visitors on a unique viewing experience.

The release stated Brewer’s creations are “bold, colorful and unusual.” His art is heavily stylized, greatly reduced in detail, and produces  semi-comic takes on animals and people, the release added.

His passion for art began when he was a young boy doodling at his dad’s junkyard, said the release.

“What I create is simply a reflection of what’s in my head,” Brewer said. “I begin working on something because I have a vision of it and I want to see it in the world,” he added.

Brewer added that he wants viewers to make their own interpretations of what he’s put before them.

“Sometimes [they’re] heavy, thoughtful things I try to build into a piece, but I also like that they read as colorful, simplified, enjoyable shapes,” he expressed.

“The way I see and you see are totally different,” Brewer said. “You may see a pattern or color that reminds you of a place or feeling completely contrary to what I see.”

Additionally, Brewer said that “While we do have shared experiences as humans, it’s the subtle ways we see the world that make it interesting.”

“Jeffie’s Color Carnival” will be included with general admission to the Lubbock Arts Festival, according to the release.
