LUBBOCK, Texas — A 65-year-old male from Seminole was killed in a Gaines County crash Thursday just before 9 p.m., according to the Department of Public Safety.

The 65-year-old was traveling eastbound on CR 320 and turned left onto US 385. DPS said he failed to yield the right of way to a Seminole ISD school bus driven by 72-year-old Eugene Reed.

The collision caused the 65-year-old to roll over into the barrow ditch. The school bus remained upright and came to a stop.

DPS said the school bus was returning from a school athletic event and had 25 Seminole High School students on board. All students, including the driver, had no injuries.

The 65-year-old, whose name was not released by DPS, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
