ST. LOUIS — David Steward, founder and chairman of Maryland Heights-based World Wide Technology, has departed the St. Louis Blues’ ownership group. ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A ramp in Downtown St. Louis was closed after a semi-truck overturned late morning Thursday. The northbound I-55 ramp leading onto the Poplar Street Bridge towards Illinois was closed after a semi-truck overturned on the road. Chatham Jaycees host 49th annual event
Chatham's big summer event celebrating that delicious, golden food staple is almost here. It's none other than the long-running, annual Sweet Corn Festival by the Chatham Jaycees. This is the 49th year for the event. Things start at 4:30 p.m. Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Little Miss Sweet Corn pageant, games for children, more than 70 vendors and, of course, loads of sweet corn. The Lovelorn and Revel in Red provide the musical entertainment before the event closes for the evening at 11:30 p.m. A full day of events begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday with the Sweet Corn Festival 5K. Activities include demonstrations, a volleyball tournament, ancient athletics competition and the famous Cow Chip Throw at 2 p.m. Musical entertainment will be provided by Soul Experience and The Shenanigans before the event ends at 11:30 p.m. There's no telling how many ears of corn will be consumed.
