Honolulu Little League Softball Majors state champs preparing for West Regionals
For Little League Softball players across the nation, their World Series “field of dreams” is not in South Williamsport, Pa., like the boys, but rather in Greenville, N.C. But either way, for the Honolulu Little League Softball Majors championship team the road to the World Series goes through San Bernardino, Calif., where it will be in two weeks to compete in the West Region tournament July 20-26. The winner of that tourney will advance to the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville.

Braddahhood Grindz is hosting it’s third year of their NIL program at Giovanni Pastrami in a spirited show of support for the University of Hawai’i Men’s Basketball team. The event was joyous and energetic; however it was also a chance for athletes to connect with local business leaders and learn from them. There was a lot of mingling, sharing of ideas, and building of relationships that could lead to future opportunities.

The Rainbow Wahine softball team finished the 2024 season placing fourth in the Big West with a 20-26 overall record, including 14-13 in the conference. They led the Big West in home runs with 34 and averaged 0.78 home runs per game, securing the top spot in home runs per game for the fifth time in six seasons. Mya'Liah Bethea topped the Big West for the second consecutive year with 12 home runs, while Chloe Borges and Maya Nakamura each hit at least seven home runs.

commits to Hawai’i ahead of ‘24 season
HONOLULU – The ‘Bows are swimming in international waters again. Hawai’i received a commitment from Dutch guard Jacopo Van der Knaap on Wednesday, who became the sixth member of the ‘Bows 2024 signing class. The 6-foot-5 guard started 25 contests last season, averaging 13 points and three rebounds per game for Tobarra BC. Van der Knaap’s club is in Tercera FEB, part of the professional basketball league system in Spain.
