Dad Bod! Unflattering Pic Sends Mahomes to Social Media

The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl-bound for the fourth time in five seasons, and they’re led by the best player in the world, quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

His on-field prowess may make him the most feared player on the planet, but off the field, he’s a mere mortal, just like the rest of us.

On “Inside the NFL,” cameras took fans inside the locker room after the Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 in the AFC Championship Game.

The result was a clip of Mahomes, shirtless, rallying the troops after the win and telling them the job was not yet finished. His physique, though, may have come as a surprise to fans assuming Mahomes was as chiseled as some of his teammates.

Mahomes’ “dad bod” doesn’t preclude him from being ruthlessly efficient with his arm and ruthless with his legs – it seems no one is more effective at moving the chains on the run.

The superstar took to social media to humorously defend himself.

His father, Patrick Mahomes Sr. – who despite being a former professional athlete himself, didn’t pass on the genes necessary for a shredded midsection – had some sympathetic words for his son.

“Patrick works really hard, he’s at the gym all the time, he works out three times a week,” told CNN . “He’s unfortunate, he got that from me too, that’s in his DNA.

“We just don’t get the muscles like DK Metcalf and some of the guys who are built like rocks and statues. We’ve just got this natural ‘dad bod’ and, hey, we’re representing.”

Mahomes Sr. pitched in the bigs for 11 years, including five seasons with the Minnesota Twins and two with the New York Mets, where Mahomes frequented the clubhouse.

Mahomes will take his representation to the Super Bowl , where the Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers and attempt to put the finishing touches on Mahomes’ third Lombardi Trophy.
